Tell North Carolina Lawmakers to Stand Up for Workers, Not Billionaires

Greed.

That’s what’s driving North Carolina Representatives Bill Ward, Allen Chesser, and Ken Fontenot to side with billionaires and ban responsible investing.

Keeping North Carolinians from making the best decisions with their own money.

And allowing billionaires like the Koch Brothers to keep cheating workers and poisoning our air and water.

Their ban could cost thousands of good paying American jobs, damage our environment, raise interest rates …

And put a dent in your retirement savings.

So, call your representative. Tell him to work for you, not billionaires.

In 2023, The North Carolina House passed H750, which Fox Business called an ESG ban for state investing.

The bill was sponsored by at least eight members of the extreme North Carolina House Freedom Caucus. The bill and the effort was also publicly supported by right wing groups like Heritage Action and Foundation for Government Accountability. These groups get major funding from out of state billionaires and their networks, including from the Kochs and Leonard Leo’s network.

Joining these extremists and out of state interests were North Carolina Reps. Bill Ward, Allen Chesser and Ken Fontenot who each voted twice to pass the anti-ESG bill, helping to provide the three-fifths majority necessary to override Governor Roy Cooper’s veto.
